Lots of replies saying this isn't news. He is only the second male professional player from the UK to come out as gay and he didn't feel comfortable doing so during his playing career. There is much work to be done before this sort of announcement is longer newsworthy.

RT @carolecadwalla: This is hateful. But it isn't just the Sun. Why on earth did it think it could get away with this? Because it's everywhere. Every day we swim in a cesspit of violent misogyny on here & we do nothing about it. It's not called out, it's not banned, it carries no consequences https://t.co/gyX8lbK6MA

Paul Sweeney (UKMPs) beantwoordde @alexmassie :

@alexmassie It can be done in so far as the primary motivation of sufficient voters isn't to do with the issue of independence. Which is why I was able to achieve a 12% swing to Labour in Glasgow North East in 2017, a seat that voted for 57% Yes in 2014 then swung 39% against Labour in 2015.

Paul Sweeney (UKMPs) beantwoordde @1iainhall :

@1iainhall @beezeypedro It isn't within the Scottish Parliament's scope of powers to hold an independence referendum, as per the Scotland Acts. Though it clearly would need to be addressed by a hypothetical Labour Government that would be presenting what would by 2024 be a tangible federal alternative.

@lewis_goodall It isn't going on in hospitals either. Healthcare workers aren't bring tested and are being told to self-isolate only if symptomatic. This is a worst of both worlds situation: increasing transmission risk to families, and unnecessary self-isolation putting pressure on colleagues.

Contrary to what many of the project's detractors say, this isn't simply about faster travel between the South, Midlands, & the North. It's about delivering the extra capacity we've needed for far too long — and helping to make standing on a train a rarity, rather than the norm.

@AndrewM64045886 @SylvinaGT @PeterKGeoghegan No, it isn't the sole reason. There are several. I wasn't talking down you, merely asking you to substantiate any aspect of your diatribe. Yes, it is a 'branch' of a mass working class political party, built on the principles of solidarity and interdependence, and proud to be so.

Paul Masterton MP (UKMPs) tweette :

And there isn't. In the May deal, Lidington set out a domestic package designed to try and deal with the concerns on the backstop. I would hope a similar approach will appear as part of ongoing discussions on the WAB. https://t.co/JQhKk8eagL

RT @LabourList: The challenges we face as a planet are vast - but this government isn't interested in meeting the UN's sustainable development goals, writes @PreetKGillMP: bit.ly/2SY76X5
